Burial started this year at the very end of 2013, once again deep, distressing and ultimately moving. "Who are you?" It's been a busy year, but I refrained from including some of my own releases: this is music in the now. FKA was too impressing to forget. My heroine Neneh in Amsterdam this year, cleaned out the venue first time around, but she tore the house down the second time in Bitterzoet. Her sincerity remains intact. Sharon, Lana, Vashti and Lucinda were the soothing female voices of the past year, Compassion is something we all should strive for these days. Beatmusic boys are back with Alt-J, Temples & Wild Beasts and some more "who am I" with Against Me, a brave track. Hope was essential too, so why not dance with Jess & the Bandit. We close with the start and Lana Wachowski stating: “...this world that we imagine in this room might be used to gain access to other rooms, to other worlds previously unimaginable.” Eat your heart out violators of freedom.
