Juan Nunez is a legend of the LA dance music scene. He founded Wax records in 1999, which was the essential focus for dance music and nu disco on the west coast, he is also the driving force behind the Freestyle label, which issued seminal work from Juan, the Idjut Boys, and The Drunk amongst others. Juan also has done remix work for people like Walter Jones and Peter Black, and released work on the American Standard, Westbound, Compu_Sol and Tango recording labels. In addition to his production/remix work and establishment of an influential record shop, Juan is renown as a “DJ’s DJ”, meaning Juan is a favorite of many of the underground scenes most noted players. Juan’s sensibility incorporates impeccable technical skills, a broad and sophisticated sonic palette, and a deep lyrical connection not just with the music, but with the dancers, the environ, and the party’s realization. Juan makes it happen.
