Wahaj

Wahaj is a Melbourne DJ drawn to the space where nostalgia meets the dance floor. Their sets move between the sensual swing of late ’90s and early 2000s R&B and the pulse of house and techno, united by a deep love of groove.

With a discerning ear and instinctive sense of movement, Wahaj plays in conversation with the crowd—familiar sounds find unexpected company, rhythms breathe, and energy builds and breaks. The result is playful, hypnotic and immediate: a sound rooted in memory but always responsive to the moment.

From intimate parties and independent spaces to Melbourne nights including Kiki Bouba, Confide and Ultraviolet, Wahaj has built a reputation for creating immersive dance floors. Their mixes have also featured on Skylab Radio, Area 3000’s Heatwave series and wovxn, a mixtape series celebrating FLINTA* and queer creatives.

At the heart of it all is a belief in the dance floor as a space for pleasure, connection and collective release.
