Big Vern Burns

Way Out West, United Kingdom

Conceived in 2004 in the depths of Andrew Weatherall's studio, The Rotters Golf Club, Big Vern Burns was born and duly christened at the Reverend AJW's Double Gone Chapel that same year.

Since that epochal emergence, he embarked upon on a mission to explore the least travelled paths orbiting the inner and outer limits of rock'n'roll, rhythm and blues, rockabilly, garage, soul, surf, freakbeat, exotica, and beyond. In 2006 he moved to New York where he landed a twice a week residency at the city’s inner art world sanctum, The Passerby. This duly led to him being asked to provide soundscapes for art and spoken word events at a variety of galleries and institutions including, GBE, PS1 and Creative Time. He also kept it gritty, becoming a regular guest in the local rockabilly scene’s Rebel Night and the 1960s beat and psyche event, Real Gone, as well as appearing at after-parties for acts such as the Kills, the Horrors and Genesis P-Orridge
