Hailing from the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, Valan moved to Brooklyn New York in his teen years immersing himself in the diversity and vibrant culture of the big city.
Valan got his start in the music industry in 2004 landing his first gig as a production assistant, working with the legendary house music pioneer Freedom Williams of C+C Music Factory, well known for the eternally popular hit song (Gonna Make You Sweat). Over a decade later Valan now produces his own music, drawing inspiration not only from his Caribbean culture but also the global sounds that have influenced him along the way.
