As part of the spring programme of Cities Methodologies in 2014, UCL Urban Laboratory hosted an afternoon seminar chaired by Stamatis Zografos called 'Buildings on fire: towards a new approach to urban memory'.
Eleanor Dare (University of Derby) presents 'Head on Fire: Burning Down Memory', outling the idea that our bodies are a material through which time and memory can be articulated. She talks about her attempts to construct embodied memorials to urban trauma, placing images into cycles of destruction and reconfiguration, digitally burnt and restored according to measurable levels of collective and personal anxiety.
