Dear Lord, that riff at 1:17. It's a great track. Lots of super tracks again this month and a lovely enlightening interview with Adam.
I am sitting here thinking how much I am enjoying the show. Electronic music where people are focusing on the song and creative approaches to writing (not blandly racing to create a semi-dance hit). So refreshing and then . . . . you played one of our tracks (‘Feet Of Lead’ from Reformer by V-Sor,X and yes you did pronounce it right) which I didn’t know was on the playlist. Now I am in a dilemma. Will he think “he is only complementing the show because one of his songs got played”. Well let me put you straight there. No! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire show. Also it filled me with great optimism that there are still so many artists out there writing music that has true and long term worth. Stuff that you will be listening to in fifteen/twenty year’s time, not forgotten by November.
Some of my favourites were - We Are Still Here by Alice Hubble (really liked this track, had a Dubstar feel to it), Cold War by Model Oppose, Feel This from Near Future (Blancmange are one of our big influences), Under The Planets For Chelsea by Famished For Blonde, followed by a great instrumental (which you forget to mention when you became side tracked by Adam from Happy Robots on the Facebook page) and Going Places from Listening Centre (honourable mentions to Colour Theory, KVB and Rodney Cromwell)
Thank you so much for this. It makes such a difference to hear back from listeners and what makes this comment all the more special is that you've picked up on my "unwritten rule" of focussing upon the whole package of creativity. For all of the bluster of a thousand expensive synthesisers, if the music isn't there, neither is the heart. I'm a great believer that electronic music is merely a canvas for humans to express themselves and is as valid as any acoustic instrument (Despite what some purists might infer) - although equally, I also try and touch upon how electronic music can blend with many other genres. It's all about the melting pot! Thank you.
