David Tsholofelo Mathaba Aka DJ D-phlo is a young, up & coming DJ & aspiring music composer. Born in Pretoria, but raised in Johannesburg. He started his DJ career in mid 2008 and has been going strong since. In 2009 he won his first DJ battle held in Norwood, then in 2010 he made it into the top 6 (Finalists) of the Gauteng Carnival DJ Competition (Pale Ya Rona) with his mega mixing skills. A group was formed from this competition called the Gauteng Top 6 (GT6) , which consisted of DJ D-phlo, DJ Shimza, DJ Menstar, DJ Thabz, DJ Tumzo & DJ Dede. 
D-phlo is predominantly a house DJ but his versatility allows him to also mix Hip-Hop, Kwaito & Dancehall. “I always try to cater for the crowds with my mixing techniques. It’s not what you play, but it’s how you play it. I believe in hard work which is why I’m always striving to better myself in any way I can”. 
He has since shared stage with international Guru’s such as Ralf Gum, Halo, Lars Berenroth & Jojo Flores as well as local legends!
