Jack Kohler is a member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe. He is the Executive Director of the non-Profit Media Organization 'On Native Ground.' He teaches music, drama, theater, film and traditional songs. He has been an independent producer for NAPT, now Vision Maker Media, since 2000. Jack graduated from Stanford with an Engineering degree. He is a member of the Actor’s Equity and SAG. He was the lead in “Tecumseh” for 5 summers. He won the Eagle Spirit award, Best Doc "River of Renewal" and nominated for Best Short for "K'ina kil." He co-produced “California’s Lost Tribes” which aired nationally on PBS. "On Native Ground Youth Reports" on FNX has won an award of Excellence for the past 4 years. He has also directed "Once We Had A River," produced "Behind the Door of a Secret Girl" and wrote/composed the Native Rock Opera "Something Inside Is Broken."
