I began playing piano at a very young age. I switched to bass at the age of 14 much to the dismay of my legendary father keyboardist Merl Saunders. Ironically the first thing I played with him won an Emmy Soul Is a PBS Special. I grew up around a lot of super Jazz & R&B musicians,, Herbie Hancock, Sly Stone, Stanley Turrentine, Dewey Redmond, Jimmy Smith and my God Father was Wynton Kelly. With these roots, I was bound for success. My dad started playing with Jerry Garcia in the late '60s and that lead me to play with Jerry Garcia, Buffy St. Marie. Eric Clapton, David Crosby besides Jazz/R&B people like Chaka Kahn, Harvey Mason, Esther Phillips, and Joe Sample. I have won another Emmy for the series Digital Journey and continue to produce people and pursue my solo career. My Latest CD Sexy Somethin reached number 1 on several Charts. I romance The Bass as I Romance Life. I have also played a lot of Gospel Music I spent 6 years with Ed and Walter Hawkins.
