I started making pause tape beats...(looping in two tape decks) around 1988. I graduated to an 8 second sampling mixers, then technology and affordability finally allowed me to get an Akai Asr-10. Something I always loved was making instrumental beat records, instead of putting up with emcees who couldn't agree on anything to save their lives. On my own, happy and broke, I kept working. In 1998 technology and affordability once again allowed us to get back to work. This time we have the equipment and the internet to do this right. We are Chocolate Chess!
