The music of The Sunchymes has been described as a summery fusion of psychedelia, powerpop and sunshine pop. The music has also been compared to the likes of the Beach Boys, Beatles, The Byrds, The Wondermints and Jellyfish.

The debut album 'Shifting Sands' was released in 2009 and the follow up album 'Let your free flag fly' was released in August 2012.
