The AVC launched in early-2018 when Carlo Olcese reunited with long-time friend, Fahad Asam. Having initially met in their high school’s AV Club (hence the duo’s name) the two rekindled their friendship when making rotations around the NYC DJ circuit.
Since neither had a home studio, the two found themselves booking space in a small back room studio of a tech company Olcese works for. “When we started, Carlo and I had completely different production habits and styles,” says Asam. “We are both very picky about certain elements and sounds. It took a few sessions (and disagreements) to adapt to each other’s producing style.” Olcese mixes his love of hip-hop and old school pop with Asam’s more EDM-oriented technical skills to bring about a new flavor to the pop house scene.
