DJ/JD has been doing this music thing for a long, long time. A near life-long record collector and musician, there isn’t much this mutha hasn’t done, including nearly a quarter century of DJ’ing, starting in radio with WCSK then WOBC, Free Radio Asheville, and then WSFM (aka Asheville FM) as music director as well. Since relocating from the south to Brooklyn in the spring of 2013, it’s hard to tell where this current freelancer will pop up. Could be damn near anywhere.

In the earliest days, the background was more rock-based, eventually diving deep into rap and louder forms of rock such as punk and metal. These days, the journey could take you many places: soul, funk, afrobeat, garage, psych, disco, early electro, new wave, hip house, and elsewhere from acts all over the world. The evolving influences and rotation are a constant. Freshness is DJ/JD’s game.
