Quite often other genres like funk, r&b, soul and ambient sneak into a JAZZ OUT! show, but a concerted effort was made to play 100% “real jazz” on this one. It’s not the classic bop or modal jazz you may be thinking of, but primarily contemporary jazz that often times defies description. The songs come from artists representing 5 continents, which attests to the genre’s world-wide appeal. Artists from New Orleans to Norway, Sweden to Shreveport, Madagascar to Argentina, Israel to France along with those who have Japanese, Persian and Indian ancestry weave a multicultural jazz tapestry.
