JO! #103

This week’s edition of JAZZ OUT! will feature such artists as South African saxophonist Linda Sikhakhane, Hungarian pianist Aron Talas and a couple of trios from Louisiana (Extended and The Bridge Trio – both from New Orleans). These acts and others will be in the first hour along with vocalists Billie Holiday, Lorez Alexandria and Della Reese. Music in the second hour will be provided by instrumentalists bassist Noam Wiesenberg, pianist Chick Corea and vibraphonist Carolyn Trowbridge among others. Singers in the second hour include Alberta Hunter, Mose Allison and Sade. The third hour gets started with a short piece by Shreveport’s own multi-instrumentalist (and instrument maker) Michael Futreal. Other artists include The Bad Plus, guitarist Jakob Bro, pianist Richie Beirach and Seattle-based trumpeter Thomas Marriott. Kokoroko, Lena Willemark and the late Cassandra Wilson will provide vocal numbers, as well. SO … TUNE IN, TURN ON & JAZZ OUT!
