I came up in Hip-Hop when it was about records, sharpening skills, and the community. Growing up in San Francisco, I spent my early years crate-digging, trading tapes, and learning alongside artists who were just starting out, driven purely by love for the culture.
I grew up in a musical household, played saxophone, and learned music theory early. At 16, inspired by Jam Master Jay and Red Alert, I bought my first Technics 1200s and taught myself to DJ, make beats, and record MCs and singers. The studio became my classroom.
Since then, I’ve worked with artists across decades as a producer, engineer, teacher, and DJ, playing thousands of parties, collaborating on albums and mixes, and helping shape projects rooted in rare grooves, classics, and deep cuts. I started Hella Records in 1993 to let the music speak.
At my core, I’m a crate digger focused on timeless music.
