Sunara is a Dj and visual artist from Colombo Sri Lanka. Since 2011 she has performed her continually evolving but always honest curation of electronic music on dance floors of Sri Lanka, Berlin (kater Blau, Golden Gate), the UK ( Alechemy Festival), Olso ( Oslo World Music Festival), India and Pakistan. With a unique and passionate approach to selection. Sunara started her career playing more eclectic hip-hop,jazz and funk infused glitchy beats, she has since gravitated to a nuanced and serious blend of often atmospheric and brooding minimal techno.
Sunara has represented audio/ visual collective Bang Bang at over a dozen events as well as numerous performances at some of Sri lanakas most interesting musical events
including the acclaimed Pettah Interchange series and music Matters Festival. She has also worked closely with Borer Movement in Sri lanka. Apart from her work as a musician Sunara is also a painter and a visual artist.
