This is the final chapter of the trilogy of 80s inspired music, based on my time living as a student in Glasgow, following the Rimini and Ibiza episodes previously uploaded.
Club music, at this time, was very eclectic...Glasgow had a white soul boy thing going on, with a kinship to American post punk, and the set conjures a Talking Heads,ESG, Grandmaster Flash vibe and closes with some Glaswegian Blondie style funk.
Happy New Year to you all and hope that you enjoy this set.
Tracklist will follow....
Now included in 80s Summer Trilogy playlist.

Wonderful session, with some true obscure gems like Museo di Lombroso, amazing discovery, within some big name classics (Paul Hardcastle and Nina Hagen right behind the corner, isn't it?) and some stunning 80s reinterpretation, Goat's Milk Silk above all. top stuff stubbie!
Cheers for the cracking feedback, Attila and apologies for my increasing tardiness in replying ((: I know that you share a fondness for digging for obscurities, musically, so pleased that you mentioned Museo di Lombroso!
Will look into the suggestions you've left me, all the best mate :)
I was eleven or twelve, I can still remember it had a big impact and it had been probably quite seminal https://youtu.be/byCCmBwRjGw

Fantastic mix of old and new, makes me wanna dig out my copy of Rip It Up And Start Again, the book about post punk from 78 to 84!
Cheers mate..I have enjoyed fitting new tracks with an 80s vibe, into this set with some familiar 80s tunes, so pleased it's worked well...thanks for the book tip...will defo check it out ::))
Hi Stu! What a great selection, I'm doing the second round now, funny! Very interesting this interpretation Singin 'in The Rain at the opening and then the magical The Cure with great The Lovecats. Could not miss Italian stuff here, great Museum of Lombroso. With track Change Your Mind you killed me my friend, in good sense :))) Love it! Omg, Pet Shop Boys, oh yeah great past times!!!
Great! This is my staff Goat's Milk Silk ... ohhhh New Kind by Gabe Gumsey, love, love, love!

Grazie mille mia sorella tigre...I'm incredibly gratified by your reaction to this mixtape of obscure and familiar 80s tunes, alongside newer stuff with an 80s vibe...it was nice to include some Scottish bands alongside some more cosmopolitan choices from this era...Museo di Lombroso was a great find for me...and I'd forgot about the duo, which featured Gary Numan....this set was a labour of love so massive thanks for all your reactions...Happy New Year and big hugs ::))
there's also a nice New York vibe in the second half and I consider Orion to be the Glaswegian "Heart of Glass" with a nice John Carpenter influence on this tune...the extended dub of New Kind is widely available to purchase...thanks for all your interest in this one ::))
A great mix of floor tappers 馃槈
Cheers Dominic, and a happy new year to you ::))
