Are you ready for the next trip?
This one starts very off-kilter for a reason with placing techniques followed by usual blending!
Hope you enjoy and all feedback welcomed ::))

stubbie

Good to here from you,David ::))
Thanks for listening and glad you enjoyed it-always good to hear which tracks people prefer!

eviff

took me a while to get into this mix to be honest...very sublime arrangement you put up... (Ô.ô)

love the intro track, just a perfect opener...pretty much mindfuck after that until E4 (love this track) & didn't expect the deep part after that, thought you're gonna ride the acid wave, interesting move.. ;) the rest of the set is proper dancefloor filler material up to the tribalistic finale^^ you take your listeners on quite some adventures & i'm glad to be one of them.. ;)

keep up the great work & cheers^^

stubbie

thanks eviff for your kind comments and helpful insights, which are always, very much appreciated ::))
I completely understand your initial thoughts, because I wanted the first 20 or so minutes to be a curveball, hence the title, before settling into a more cohesive pattern and I would probably develop the acid wave part ,if it had been a longer mix (still working up to that! )
It's great that you enjoy being on these journeys^^

Can’t quite believe what I’ve just listened to…
Not quite sure I know what I’ve just listened to…
The early part of the set is a complete curve ball: with its weird and wonderful noises that sucks you in and somehow “traps you”. There is a psychedelic feel to it and you think “ok, I can do this, in fact, this is rather twistedly refreshing”. Then, oh then, there is a taste of what’s to come…
Visions of early Belgium techno tracks float through my mind, reminiscing of good times begin. Then ‘Wildwood Orphan’ sneaks up on you, no, creeps up on you would be a more apt description. We are in uncharted waters here; this is something new from stubbie. ‘Convalescence’ and ‘1K’ continue the Belgium vibe, very R&S Records: a sound that I love.!!
Then it’s just a relentless stream of PROPER BANGING TECHNO.!! Wouldn’t be out of place in some of Amsterdam’s or Berlin’s finest techno clubs. The mixing is bang on and your phrasing is perfect for this genre: you completely keep the vibe, the mood and the darkness going, there’s no escape, even if you wanted it.!! That ‘Matka’ track sums up this section of the set perfectly – bloody awesome.!! As for the finale, inspired stubbie, just inspired.!!

All in all, your most original and technically accomplished mix to date – without doubt.!!
Your programming makes it one of the gutsiest sets I’ve heard – very intelligent mix…

Wow,I'm stunned by this review,Creamy.....absolutely stunned and totally BUZZING!
You have an uncanny ability to dissect and get to the essence of a mix and convey that journey-I could hang this review on my wall ::))
Many, many thanks for this outstanding piece of encouragement- I salute you !!

Elusive Thoughts

Man, you're getting good at this :)

Another excellent, eclectic mix of vibes and genres. You got melodic, acid, techno and tribal in there and they all work really, really well. A bit of country and hip hop and it would have completed the list :)

Some really fantastic tracks in there stubbie. I agree with Jacey - the flug track is a killer. It's got an Arman Val Helden feel about for those old enough to remember Witch Doctor. A really nice headf**k track!

Technically, this may be your best set yet! I'm always impressed at your resolve to digitally mix without the sync button that so many of us rely on. I tip my hat to you!

Loved the set and the groove you create. You never stand still and that makes listening to your sets so much fun! Bravo Stubster!

That's a really amazing and very generous commentary you've provided, Elusive ::))
Really pleased that you feel that the eclectic mix works ( just about get away with that opening salvo ! ) and the flug track was a great bridge to move on from the middle section. Also, I'll need to check out Witch Doctor and Billy Nasty as a result of the great feedback ::))
Many thanks ,also, for the encouragement on the technical side -that means a lot!
Looking forward to see where you're taking us next!
