During early 2015 I got the chance to dig deeper into vinyl from all around the world and through a very lucky circumstance (Thank you so much again Kati Joon!) I got my hands on a few 7“ 45s that came directly out of Iran and I decided to make a small mix with them.
The reason this mix is called "Forbidden Sounds" is exactly that - this wonderful music from the late 60s to the late 70s out of Iran is still banned by the current Government to this day. The possession and distribution of vinyl records within Iran is not allowed and a lot of copies were destroyed. Also several of the active artists like Googoosh (see picture) suffered under the regime. This mix was done as an hommage to the wonderful and inspiring artists that made music in Iran during the pre-revolution years. I truly hope you'll appreciate it. Enjoy!

Some really cool stuff in here. I looked at trying to buy a couple of 45s, especially one by Googoosh - http://www.45cat.com/record/ex4349 - but they're generally really, really pricey. Lucky to find all that, nice one.
