In the mid eighties, Porky and I approached Ragna Gift regarding the music at Sugar Shack, a club night that she ran with Phillip Blonde [who's the head of a Tory think tank now - enough said...] We thought we could do better. She offered us an hour slot upstairs to test the theory out. It was a roaring success. We were hired and took up residence for the next two years. Our first paid DJ work.
Last night, to celebrate The Welly Clubs centenary, Shaft and Sugar Shack returned for one night only.
Here's my set...It's 1986 all over again.
Tracklist
Playing tracks by Mantronix, Trouble funk, Chuck Brown, Kool And The Gang, Shalamar and more.

very cool...Don't think we've met but I was part of a group who did a night called the Temperance Club at the Welly Club in 1986/7. We also ran the Unity Club at The Adlephi that year taking over from Swift Nick. Good mix, really brought me back to that time...
This looks like a pedigree mix! Big up mate.
this is right up my street cheers steve! Are you at Hidden Hill Festival in June?
