Steve aka Java is a Jungle Dnb producer whose releases date back to 2004 when he was a resident dj for pirate radio stationOrigin fm (now Origin.net) a position he held for over 11 years from the stations first year of transmitting.
Having released music on various labels over the years including Kemet, Serial Killaz, Reformed, KLP, Deep in the Jungle, Ghetto Dubz and Foundation Music. In 2009 Java set up Audio Hostage Records as an outlet for his collaborations with Ben J under the alias Dual Process and later on releasing other artists music on their label.
Fast forward to present day Java’s love for the original jungle sound of the 90’s plays a heavy influence in his productions, combining chopped up breakbeats, ragga vocals and tearin basslines.
2024 sees Java teaming back up with his childhood friend Articulated Movement to set up two music outlets, Distorted Culture and Steppaz Culture, the former aimed at upfront drum and bass and the latter at original sounding jungle.
