Steve Harris started out as host of "The Roots Revelation," a weekly reggae show on 91.5 FM KRCC in Colorado Springs. He founded and produced the Southern Colorado Roots & Culture Fest from 1996-99. In 2004 Steve shifted gears to create Basement Jazz, which aired for 3 years on KRCC until Steve came up with the idea for his current program, the Grass Roots Revival. GRR debuted December 5, 2007 on KRCC, featuring an eclectic mix of bluegrass, indie folk, alt-country, and American roots genres. In 2009 he helped to create the MeadowGrass Music Festival, held annually Memorial Day weekend at La Foret Conference & Retreat Center in Black Forest. He left KRCC in 2014 and was off air for 1 year before joining community radio station KCMJ. In August 2016 he brought GRR to KQSC-Mountain Country, a commercial station broadcasting at 107.3 and 1530 AM. GRR airs from 8-11 am Mtn time. Now in its 10th year, MeadowGrass is the premier multi-day music fest in southern Colorado.
