Sponge the Jawn, Brooklyn based dj-graphic designer-creative director, is a owning the term “multi-hyphenate.” In 2012 he first began his creative endeavors doing photography and shortly after picked up DJing. In high school, he studied graphic design and created a blog titled “The UP Mag,” where he showcased the many talents he came across. Graduating from high school marked the beginning of a new journey.

A ‘Project X’ style graduation party resulted in the creation of the Shutdown Boyz, a group known for hosting some of Brooklyn’s most infamous parties for a year straight. Sponge continues to DJ although the Shutdown Boyz are no longer a group. He plans to continue building The UP Mag, as well as to take his DJing, graphics and other creative ideas to the next level. Sponge has DJ’d at prestigious venues such as Highline Ballroom, Webster Hall, Space Ibiza, SoHo House, and more.
