The 80’s era where Special Edition started, with the boss Ken who pioneered the Iconic West London sound, from Ladbroke Grove, during that era with a well respected sound system, along with Selecta’s Tippa & Mc’s Doctor & Double J. One of the very 1st dances which took place ‘Lancaster Road ‘ for Dirty Harry 1986/87. Most of the speaker boxes were purpose built downstairs at Rogers shabeen Downstairs, at times tested on the frontline, Ladbroke Grove.
Promoters Monster, Chedda, Bentley, Batman & Robin ensured Special Edition continued to play at the forefront of most dances. From The original warehouse dance at Oliver Toms (Kensal Road ) with Rappatack 1991 / Pool Hall (Edgware Road) with One Love / Famous Boat Dance Prior to any Sound System Past or Present on the (River Thames) with Funkadelic.
