An experimental musician/band: SA produces and makes most of the music, also sometimes collaborates with other musicians/bands to release pieces under the Sound Animal name, such as Tom McCarthy of TM's Sundae Sauce, Steve Gilmartin, Gavin Saunders of The Infinite Wimshurst, Igor Iofe, Psychedelic Mayhem, A.J. Kaufmann, Chris Nolte, and XAW.
Playing a wide variety of instruments including khaen, Greek double shepherd's flute, pungi, harmonica, silver flute, suling, melodica, synth, bass, guitar.... Often employing found objects, sometimes electrified with an external pickup. And playing instruments in unusual ways, like bowing dulcimers and running them through effects pedals or playing a silver flute while using it as a percussion instrument against a broken cymbal.
The music is all non-genres, varies widely with elements of drone, dark/ambient, psych rock, noise metal, doom, and Romantic Era. Special nod to Swans, Earth, and Caspar Brotzmann Massaker.
