This channel is all about soul music, but I‘ve been fortunate enough to meet and greet with some great ambassadors of Soul & Funk, my musical heroes. All songs come from autographed media (mostly vinyls but also CDs). The first track is taken from an extended DELUXE edition of James Bown‘s second and legendary Apollo concert (the picture shows the signed original double LP on King Records).
The signatures are from George Benson, James Brown (the two Apollo albums), Fred Wesley (as arranger for James Brown‘s REALITY album), Ray Charles, Pee Wee Ellis (on his first album under his own name and with guest George Benson), Billy Preston, Gregory Porter, Jimmy Smith, Maceo Parker (the 7“ record on the House Of The Fox Label), Lyn Collins and more, see tracklist in the comments.

That's cool. I can recall some of his shows, too. Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Ludwigshafen (1987), Cologne (two times), Bonn, Mainz, The Hague and maybe two or three other shows. Never to be forgotten.

Thanks so much Jonathan. I really do cherish these LPs. I've been so lucky in my life as a collector of Soul Music ... One brochure I had designed back in 2001 for James Brown and it's now part of The James Brown Museum in Augusta GA. There's a video on youtube when FANTASIA is briefly looking at it. That's when I found out the broschure made it there. I gave it to Mr. Brown personally back in the days :-)

It's the Soul Soul Soul Preacher's world... on the way to Soul heaven.
Whatever world, it never was just a man’s world. The song is from a different time and it was Brown’s way to say how much this world would be lost without women. The vibe inside the Apollo is mesmerizing, Brown sounds great and I love the little groovy things Jimmy "Chank" Nolen does on his guitar throughout this ballad. The DELUXE edition BTW has many more previously unreleased groovy moments from June 16-25 of 1967. Thanks for listening G.

To stick with Stevie, I Was Made To Love these albums :-) Once I've been standing very close to the WONDER of Soul, but no chance to get a signature. That was in Berlin, September 10, 1987. I still have the ticket and concert poster. Thanks DrJ !
Just looked it up. The ticket was DM 36 (36 German Marks), that's 18 Euro or 20 USD. That would be one and a half drinks today and that's how you tell the time, too.
