Kenny Black is a Swedish hip hop pioneer, DJ, and historian dedicated to preserving and sharing the roots of the culture. He is the founder of the record label Finest Blend Recordings, focusing on electro-funk–inspired Detroit music, and the author of Electric Boogie: When Hip Hop Came to Sweden 1982–1988, a definitive account of hip hop’s early years in Sweden. He is also the creator of DJ School – Learn to DJ with Kenny Black, a step-by-step beginner’s guide for young DJs.
