Every DJ has some feel good story about how they were raised up a musical child prodigy and played drums since they were 3 or picked up their first record and instantly started scratching. Well the good news is...I can spare you that story because that isn't me. First off, I'm not a DJ...I'm a music connoisseur. Calling myself a DJ would mean that I had some skill at mixing records or beat juggling, dexterity perhaps? Not me.
I do come from a musical family from a musical town. Mom sang straight through choir and throughout her adult life, my father collected awesome funk records, my brother an underground hip hop artist, and my sister a dancer. Me? I used to hide from music, because it surrounded me. Horrible during my piano lessons as a child and mediocre (at best) with the drums as a teen. A middle child, maybe I was searching for an outlet to share my music, but was too shy to stand out and shout.
Here we are some 30 years later, learning to share. Hope u enjoy.
