The sixties and the 60s were never equal. While the era can be placed in its neat decadal box, the culture of the 'sixties' is pervasive and persistent. As film scholar Oliver Gruner recognises, the period's cultural identity spills over into neighbouring decades, creating a 'long sixties'. Something Blue will trace this extended timeline, expanding on Gruner's theory to establish a looser, 'cultural sixties'.
Bel and Jake are radio co-hosts, housemates and even occasional friends. They bring a wealth of passion and knowledge, with a desire to cover as much of the 'cultural sixties' as their one-hour weekly time slot will allow. Tune in to hear about everything from Bradford blues venues, to the memorial qualities of jazz and everything in between.

No prizes for guessing where their design inspiration comes from.
