SLURM23 is of course an Internet pseudonym – one that has stayed with me since time immemorial (or what seems like it in the Internet). Together with the “brain slug logo” they form an Internet persona, which is my way of guarding some semblance of privacy online. Initially this persona was chosen almost at random, but has acquired many layers of obvious and hidden meanings over the years.

Naturally, the most straight forward meaning is the literal one. The first part of the term is derived from a little known character in a somewhat known TV show. The second part is contrary to common beliefs devoid of any numerological meaning, yet it serves as a powerful demonstration of cognitive phenomena, such as confirmation bias (apophenia). Or could it even be a mysterious predicting force of events to come? I’ll leave that up to you…
