DJ Skinny fell in love with electronic music at underground raves and House of Unity parties in Calgary, 1992, drawn to deep house and vocal garage. By 1995, he was throwing underground events with 5 Element Productions, including the first electronic party at the Calgary Planetarium. His first club set at Sunday School came in 1996, launching a lifelong connection to Canada’s underground scene.

After moving to Vancouver, he expanded into electro, holding residencies at Lotus Sound Lounge, Sonar, Element Sound Lounge, Skybar, and Shine, and teaching as a DJ instructor at the Rhythm Institute. He’s also played festivals including Texada Island Secret Beach Party and Shambhala.

Now based in Cumberland, BC, DJ Skinny collaborates on Decompression Chamber, releasing mixes that span deep house, vocal garage, electro, and hypnotic Detroit lock groove vibes.
