One warm London evening in 1991 I accidentally tuned into Melody FM. I discovered the shadow world of Easy Listening in a scene similar to Steve Martin in The Jerk where he discovers the light music channel on the radio which played a type of music that spoke to him. My life was changed forever and I even wooed the woman who would later become my wife to a background of easy listening. We married to a background of A Man and a Woman and have a daughter called Melody in honour of the radio station of the same name.
