Dj Skenny grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia and started to enjoy the electronic music early on at a young age. He was influenced by artists such as Darude, The Chemical Brothers, Benny Benassi and Tiesto influenced him. From there his musical taste grew from various sub-genres ranging from Electro, House, Trance, Deep House, Progressive and most EDM artists. After a trip to Las Vegas in 2012 to attend the EDC festival, the energy and experience was such an amazing feeling he decided it was something he wanted to get involved in. After that trip Skenny started looking into DJ software and started playing with his first mixer a Numark DJ 2 Go. From then on his love for the music grew and started to learn how to mix songs and used various different controllers/mixers. Skenny’s first club debut happened on September 21st 2013 at the Argyle Bar and Grill opening for a friend named Joel Freck.
