GOT2BEFUNKY started as a radio show I set up in 2000 on Manchester's KEY103, where it became embedded as the weekend staple of the NorthWest's DJs, promoters & clubbers on the way back from their big nights out.

Fusing credible house, urban and backroom party breaks from back-in-the-day up to the present day, got2befunky takes it's name from a James Brown quote....

Bobby Byrd : "What you gonna play now..?"
James Brown : "Bobby, I don't know - but whatever I play, it's GOT 2 BE FUNKY!"

...namely that it is not a show pigeon-holed by a particular genre or style -as long as there's an element of funk -something to get your head nodding to!!

After a few years off the airwaves, GOT2BEFUNKY was re-born on Manchester's most credible and relevant station : UNITY RADIO 92.8FM ( www.unityradio.fm ) - other commitments meant that I had to move it from a weekly show to the last weekend of the month - Sats 2-5pm.
