The plot of the series revolves around forensic anthropologists from Jefferson University working alongside the FBI. The lead roles were played by Emily Deschanel and David Borianaz; other recurring characters include Michaela Conlin, Thomas Joseph Thain, John Francis Daly, Tamara Taylor and John Boyd, Eric Millegan and Jonathan Adams. Emily Deschanel and David Borianaz, along with Katie Raikes, author of the novels on which the show is based, are the producers.

From 12 January to 11 May 2012, a spin-off series called The Seeker, starring Joff Stultz and Michael Clarke Duncan, aired.

Storyline

The plot of the series focuses on solving crimes being investigated by FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth with the help of a team of anthropologists from the Jeffersonian Institution.
