Originating from Potters Village in the Caribbean island of Antigua, Shatta Don was born to do music & born into music simultaneously. Nicknamed “The Entertainment Capital of Antigua,” Potters Village was an environment where music was well embedded within the culture and as a youth, Shatta quickly fell in love with that culture.
Dancehall & Reggae music flooded his neighborhood streets, with sound systems surrounding and talent shows featuring veteran Antiguan artists becoming a staple in the community. Such factors ignited his desire to follow in those artists’ footsteps and one day, become a success in the musical field. Furthermore, idols such as Jamaican entertainers, Papa San, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer and Ninja Man amongst others gave Shatta Don reasons to confidently walk down a similar road.
