At 17 years old I was first introduced to electronic music in Portland Oregon. Immediately drawn to the drum and bass scene and going to every show I possibly could while saving up for a pair of MK5's and a mixer. Only six months after going to my first drum and bass show I had a full DJ set up and started buying records. Still in high school and with not much money to spend, I would spend most of my off time digging through crates for hours at 360 records finding gems. I played my first show and began to climb the ladder in the portland drum and bass scene, mostly dominated by Dj's much older than me. Before to long I was in and one of the boys. Flash forward several years and I am now using ableton and a slew of controllers and just having fun, and with no need to impress anyone, realizing with age that all i really wanted to do was make and play music for myself. Even today I buy and dig for great music as much as I used to but with less drive to impress people.
