Waauuuw, what a fabulous session Ben!!
I`m deeply impressed by this `out of the ordinairy` n `nothing by the way`-Set", which is also not done to my ears by the third time listening to! .. thanx so much for this advanced enjoyment :-) nice greets - GSA
Thanks GSA and sorry for the late reply! Always very grateful for your attention to the channel's mixes! greets!
Really great mix, got lost in places I never knew existed. A magical thing, with a cheeky ending. Thanks for doing it, your mixes are always an interesting and enjoyable experience.
Thanks, for these words martianbleep! and I'm glad you lived the mix that way.
Absolute stunner of a mix here bud! Lots of fantastic transitions throughout, with an exquisite ethereal flow. The mood almost felt like a seance, but in the broad daylight, maybe conducted by a stream. Also, holy shit with that Sepultura!!! Haven’t heard that song in ages and loved that you used it to close out this journey. I am 100% gonna take another listen to this! Much respect friend!
thanks Rob! these words are great to start the week! Thank you very much, mate!
fantastic buddy, constant feeling of assmebling and disassembly throughout this set, an almost other worldy feel that hits home every single time, loved the African Project for obvious reasons (and this set is anything but "obvious"!😉)
the cinema feel toward the end was also brill fella, loads of new sounds to grab hold of the senses,,, thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with this on, well played mate n bro bear hugs from sunny Liverpool aye 🚀⚔️💎✨🐻🎧
I see you comment on my latest almost exactly the same time as I left this ha ha... but I wanted to ask if that pitch experimentaion is applied to the cinematic stuff? as now you mention it seems like older leftfield kinda stuff slowed down? how exciting if so.... cheers pal, always nice to hear from you, should be writing this on my comments section ha ha.... hope ur keeping well mon ami
yes, totally Daryll. In fact, in the most eclectic mixes it gives you a huge margin of possibilities. Sometimes, it is simply a matter of the needs of the script, and as you say, these devices give you facilities with a very very large pitch range, without tone changes, etc... Thank you very much for the words above about the mix, mate! have a good week <3
Hi BEN, hope you are well mate. This was an epic listen during work. Stuart (Fitz) had mentioned to me how good this was before I listened and he was spot on - absolutely superb! Experimental/ambient mixes can be a little too self indulgent and samey I find sometimes but this was so well structured and put together that it really maintained interest with little twists and turns. Amazing job mate, thanks for sharing it 😊🙌
wow ... thanks Shane! Attila says it very well below, it is an attempt to create a constant narrative with different elements, within a session at low tempos and with a mostly experimental aspect. So I´m very happy with your words in general, they make me very proud, mate! Heartfelt Thanks :)
in your research - building a consistent narrative with diffrent genres and styles - you're going to perfection, bro! this unfolds in one breath where the elements of difference are not perceptible, but everything flows as a single discourse. truly masterful work! always nice for me, then, to understand some Italian speech :) btw a lot of new discoveries for me, so many great artists to check! I'll have to go back to the tracklist cuz is an all-gem session, I'm now at the sepultura track (yes, I'm one of those who approve of the choice) to put a point in the magical suspension where it floats to the end. very beautiful!!!
thank you very much, mate! your words honor me. I took the risk with the Sepultura track, my doubts were there, but I think it was the output I was looking for, the session is very constant as you say, and I needed an ending that would release all the accumulated tension. Big words and big definition, mate! by the way, in the tracklists there are two references to this Basque label from SSS11 Balza, which I recommend you check! https://hausofbeats.bandcamp.com/
Thanks, Attila, it's always a pleasure to read you!
thanks, this basque scene is uncredible!
Blown away with this Ben, absolutely stunning piece of work.
Thanks a lot, Barry! It's great to see you, and with those words! hope all is well
great nature & tribal sounds throughout. very psychedelic vibes, track around 21 min is great. Middle eastern tribal vibes of track at 30 min also amazing Great use of sepultura this kind of shit I'd pull :lol great way to finish off the tribal vibes with something really heavy. Loved this so much ;D Spot on mixing as always. Keep them coming :)
forgot to say how great that really atmospheric track at 1 hour 2 min is. Incredible work dude :)
Thanks a lot R_A_B! Glad that you value it like this. And the most of the tracks with which I started the idea, in effect, were those, dubby, tribal and at a low tempo. The complement was the intro and the outro, which is more experimental or ambient music, and Sepultura at the end, as you say, the discharge of energy. Thanks for your feedback!
Absolutely loved this yesterday Ben. One of the best sets I've heard in a while. Lots of new deep compelling hypnotic music throughout. And it was mixed so well I lost track of what tracks were on fairly quickly. Loved all of them. Well, maybe not the Sepultura track at the end but 19 out of 20 is still an excellent score 😁😁
Bravo mate take a bow that was immense. 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍
hehe I had my doubts, I did not want it to "spoil" the end of the session by breaking the flow and leaving it as an eccentricity, but I liked the transition and I also saw it as a release of energy and contained tension. 19 out of 20 is a great score and your words are too, mate! :) I really appreciate your attentive listening Stuart. Thank you very much for all this!
