RUi is a Portuguese queer DJ whose connection to electronic music began the early-2000s Portugal.

After relocating to Berlin in 2015, RUi rediscovered his passion for electronic music through the city's iconic queer nightlife. Immersing himself in spaces where music, freedom, and community intersect, he spent days and nights exploring the sounds and spirit of the city clubs. These experiences profoundly influenced his understanding of the dance floor—not just as a place to party, but as a space for connection, expression, and belonging.

In 2022, RUi moved to Málaga, Spain, where he finally had the opportunity to step behind the decks and transform decades of musical passion into a DJ career. Since then, he has become a regular presence at queer bars and venues across Torremolinos and Madrid, steadily building a reputation for thoughtfully curated sets.

RUi's sound goes from dark nu-disco, progressive house to raw techno.
