Founded by Holly Schneider in September 2013, Studio Grand is a nonprofit multi-use storefront that supports local families, youth, emerging and established artists by hosting a mix of music, performance, educational, visual art classes and events. Studio Grand seeks to provide teaching artists and performers with an affordable and highly visible location, as well as the opportunity for them to be creative and free in their work. Programming will reflect and serve the diverse communities that surround Oakland’s Lake Merritt and maintain a space for intercultural and transdisciplinary engagement.
