Deep Melodic Techno

The ever evolving sound of Techno has reached new heights with the growing popularity of 'Melodic Techno'.

Juno Records/Downloads have just recently added it as a sub genre under their 'Techno' category. Loopmasters keep adding new additions under the genre, 'Euphonic Techno' being a prime example.

So what is Melodic Techno ? Just listen to it's biggest supporters, 'Worakls' and their heaven sent Orchestral Arrangement. You can't find a better example than their 2014 release 'Salzburg'. Joachim Pastor and his beautiful creation 'Reykavik'. N'to and 'Trauma' With all three artists falling under the guise of Hungry Music.

Then there is the Nu School lead by artists such as Teho with his more organic sound on songs like 'Behind Me' and 'Stuck in Reverse'. Then there are great various artists releases like 'Melodic Techno Essentials' on LW Recordings, now on their tenth compilation release. This is a great starting point for DJ's and fans alike to discover this sound.

So getting back to the actual sound and what is it ? Minimal kick drums, strong atmospherics, multi layered keys, warm pads, lush synth lines and breakdowns that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up !!

Soul Cleanse Radio has been championing the sound with their 'This Beautiful Electronic Music Journey' now on part 30 of the series. We seen it as befitting at this landmark to write this post as we will continue to push the sound as it evolves into the future and through this crazy period in all our lives.

Thanks so much for reading. Keep listening and playing the music we all love and adore...
