Roberto is a multi awarded Italian guitarrist and composer. Started playing the guitar when he was just 6 y.o. In 1976 studies Cello in the Conservatory of Music in Sassari. Meanwhile continues his studies in Modern and Jazz Guitar and establishes the sextet JAZZMANIA. From 1989 is member and co-founder of the Italian “Blue Note Orchestra”, and from 1991 to 2012 is the official guitar of the “OJS Big Band”, also conducted by well known Carla Bley, Bob Mintzer, Colin Towns, Giorgio Gaslini, Bruno Tommaso, Giancarlo Gazzani and more.
Roberto has toured in many Jazz Festivals and in a long list of concerts in Italy, Europe and Far East. In 2005 is the conductor of the “Canzonissima 2000 Big Orchestra". In his over 30 years of career, Roberto has performed also with: Colin Towns, Carla Bley, Jill Saward, Norma Winstone, David Linx, Gegè Telesforo. Tom Harrel, Paolo Fresu, Enrico Rava, Steve Swallow, Bob Mintzer (member of Yellowjackets), Andy Sheppard, Javier Girotto, Richard Galliano.
