Born aboard a marine life research vessel some 137 miles off the coast of East Falkland, Roberdo Raval did not learn the piano when he was young.

It was in 1999 when mushroom magazine’s Xmas contest asked the readers for their most visionary festival ideas. Roberdo Raval wrote up the concept for an all solar powered open air – which won him the first prize: A Numark CDN-22 double DJ CD player.

Over the next 20 years he did quite a few of those things he had dreamed to do as an aspiring newcomer DJ: Roberdo Raval played at Fusion Festival, at Boom Festival's Dance Temple and Alchemy Circle, on the cliffs of an Atlantic archipelago and at the hind end of the Australian outback.

With more and more old hands lamenting about the ever increasing commercialisation and social-mediasation of the scene, Roberdo Raval ran away from it to spend substantial amounts of time in, on and around great bodies of salt water. He's making a living as a journalist and writer.
