As a child, Rob Dyer was obsessed with noise. Annoying friends and family around him, Rob explored percussive, melody, and harmony with body parts and scraps of wood. And sometimes sheet metal.
Thankfully, he latched onto electronic music, and his creativity took off. As Ruby, he explored those passions. Playing shows in Calgary and Western Canada, he grew an audience. Now composing, he is reaching ears worldwide.
One of Ruby’s first experiences for his love of electronic music was at Shaw conference center in Edmonton. It would not take him long to go full circle, playing there during the Northern Lights music festival in 2014. Ruby, while being a popular addition to venues in the Calgary area now holds residency at Habitat Living Sound.
At those festivals and shows he has played with such names as Killfrenzy, Taiki Nulight, Jessie Andrews, Lee Foss, Hot Since 82, Yousef and many others.
