Robby Piola cover image

Reggio Emilia, Italy

He showed symptoms of an audio-electronic disease right after turning 12 when he created a sort of “prehistoric mixed musical sequence” using two tape decks and two acoustic speakers. He started DJing at 15 in a private radio, investing all his allowance in buying music. Musically speaking, the first weekends on the “Riviera Romagnola” set his course. Two guys turntabling at the “Baia degli Angeli” in Gabicce are responsible for this: Claudio "Mozart" Rispoli & Rubens. After years of private party djing the real night gig came along: Wednesdays at Locomotive(now is The well-known Maffia) in the late 80s, the “Midnight Coffee” in the first 90s and then Fonderia Italghisa, Domino, Marabù(Reggio Emilia),Les Folies de Pigalle, Adrenaline, Picchio Rosso, Kit Kat, Spirity Club, Next, Area, Les Bains Douches, Kinky Club, Contatto, the already mentioned Maffia and plenty clubs of Emilia Romagna. His DJ sets aren’t limited in one single genre but draw on different musical genres.
