Rites of Spring

The initial impulse for choice of music in this mix was the discovery of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons re-composed by Max Richter.

It was love on first hearing and I decided to include, in some way, all four parts of ‚Spring‘, zero, one, two, three.

I also wanted to include moments as visceral as Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, but danceable by nonprofessionals.

There's a lot of creative chaos in the set, but it's also quite trancey in places. Some of our regular dancers were challenged, and told me so :-). Others said the journey took them deep inside and was exactly the right music for the moment.
