In 2002, Jo Styline founded the “Aquaplaning” collective, teaming up with others who were busy on the electronic scene. Stunning venues, the sheer creative flair of the visual projections and the originality of their flyers soon made “Aquaplaning” nights highly popular in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Internationally-famous DJ often came along.
In early 2007, Jo Styline and his collective gained a residency at an up-coming club, La Ruche. On top of acting as DJ, he also took on the role of promoter.
Losoul (Playhouse), DJ ATA (Playhouse, Robert Johnson), ND_Baumecker (Freundinnen, Berghain), DJ Steffi (Klaxon, Panoramabar), Vera (Oslo Records), Marcus Worgull, (Innervision, Sonar Kollektiv), Strobocop (Karaoke Kalk Pets) were among the star DJs doing stints at La Ruche on “Aquaplaning” nights.
