trance mixing for me started in 1999 .with compilation cd’s from record labels like REACT and PlatiPus. Back then I was mixing on some state of the art Vestex cd-11.which at the time were state of the art but very experimental not like today’s decks.
I could already mix vynl but wanted not only a new challenge but wanted to prove it could be done with cd’s as well as vynl. It was nearly impossible as cd’s back then were not timecoded as MP3’s and cd’s are today.which was ok on vynl spinning at 45 bpm .cd’s were spinning at about 15000 revolutions per minute.so time coding was essential. I was laughed at by many for wanting to do it but within a few years with the introduction of pioneer cd’s .it became the standard for clubs just as 1210’s were for vynl dj’s.
Anyway.enough of the history lesson.
